May I just say that this is by far one of my most favorite dresses I own. (Please excuse the bright orange strap of my purse, that's not part of it!).
I payed about $30 for this dress at JC Penney's of all places! Sometimes you can find really inexpensive and professional looking things in their juniors' department.
It's a great dress because it can be worn in fall, spring and summer and it's very versatile and classy. I've worn it to a wedding, on a few dates and even to church!
The top is my favorite- it's got a fun neckline and the belt comes off in case you want to spice it up and give it a little personality. Underneath the sheer polk-a-dot skirt are layers of tool to give it body. I'm 5'6'' and dresses usually hit me mid-thigh, but this one comes about two inches above my knees which is the perfect length for any occasion.
Neutral dresses like this one are essential to your closet because you can wear them with just about any color or style of shoe. I usually wear my red flats with this, but I have also paired it with my chestnut riding boots and a cropped jean jacket to give it a more autumn feel.
So, some quick things to remember when trying on dresses!: A good, neutral dress is a classy piece of clothing that will never go out of style. If your hem line is more than the length of a credit card above your knees, it's not appropriate to wear in a business setting. If your dress has more than two patterns, keep your accessories to a minimum.
